Why do we eat when we are bored?
This week I am attending a training class for work. I am observing the class structure and the quality of the presenters. In a few months, I will actually be coordinating these training classes, so this is a great experience for me. I should clarify my opening questions. Not that the class material is borning, it's that I am constantly sitting which is not a good thing for an active, social person like me.
The classes start at 7:30am and go until 5:00pm. Thank goodness for Starbucks in our building! I feel like I am constantly eating during class. It is so frustrating to be hungry all day. I think it is just because I am not interacting with other people or moving around. When did sitting and listening become associated with wanting to snack?
Of course, the logical solution would be to increase working out to compensate for the additional calorie intake. Not gonna happen. When that early am alarm goes off, the chances of me snoozing are pretty high. I am lucky if I get out of bed in time for a decent cardio session.
There are a few things saving me...
1). I gave up sweets for lent, so I have not been gorging on Cold Stone Creamery the last few weeks. (I am a disciplined person. When I put my mind to something...watch out!)
2). I am only in training for 2 more days this week, but I have training next week too :(
3). I try to inhale healthy snacks (I gotta cut the Starbucks lattes though).
4). I never carry cash, so I can't be tempted by the office vending machine (believe me Peanut M&Ms...hello temptation...see #1 double motivation to avoid the chocolate covered candies)
4). My wedding dress is already ordered in a size that fits me perfectly!
I clearly could not take a job that requires me to stay put in my cube all day long. I would go crazy and would gain about 50 pounds.
